Gut Health Spring Clean Challenge- Not What You Think

Part 2 – Week 2

Last week we talked about Cleaning Your Space

Today we are going to address Cleansing Your Mind…

Let’s dive in!

Did you know that your BRAIN and your GUT are Connected… THEY ARE!

Via the GUT – BRAIN Axis

SO when your gut is imbalanced your brain is too… and your brain… yah that powerhouse affects your gut too.

Butterflies in the tummy before? Yah that is because of the Gut Brain Axis… if you want to learn more about that check out this post here ….

I would like to challenge you to implement some mind cleansing…

First- find time each day during the week to quiet your mind and or shift negative thoughts into positive thoughts… easier said than done… BUT

You can do it! This will help your mind to be cleansed and quieted in order to create space for new thoughts to come in and take hold

This is VITAL for decreasing stress which is KEY to a Healthy and Happy Gut

Here are 5 quick tips for de-stressing

  1. Stop what you are doing and move to a new environment ESPECIALLY one that is riddled with negativity and STRESS
  2. Get outside and enjoy nature- it’s powerful, calming and cleansing! Not to mention its great for the gut
  3. UNPLUG- unplug from it all (social media, news media, newspaper, news apps and other electronics that breed negativity)
  4. Practice breathing techniques to calm the mind (breathing is also good for the gut)
  5. Laugh- laughing stimulates the vagus nerve, improves digestion and relaxes us – this is all amazing for the GUT!

No? Really you haven’t

Well, DO IT!

I remember hearing a friend of mine compliment herself before and I was thinking to myself… uh conceited much… but then I listened more intently on what she was saying… and she wasn’t being conceited

On the contrary … she was building herself up in a powerful way…

SO I did what any logical person does and I put it to the test…

GUESS WHAT HAPPENED

I actually started to physically feel better… yah you read that right

Because I was treating myself with LOVE, KINDNESS, RESPECT and GRACE I was GRATEFUL for Myself and for who I am !

I was experiencing more joy, peace and positivity which RESULTED in a HUGE drop in negativity... leading to... you guessed it

IMPROVED GUT HEALTH… I was experiencing far less stomach pains and issues.

I DARE YOU to try it…

Leave yourself little love notes full of inspiring messages, positive thoughts and kindness toward YOURSELF

Maybe try something like :

  • You rock!
  • You are MORE than Enough
  • Don’t forget who you are
  • Don’t forget you are AWESOME
  • You are LOVED
  • You are valued
  • You are kind
  • You are talented
  • You are stunning
  • You are brave
  • You are loving
  • You are selfless
  • A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mindset
  • If you are positive you will see opportunities instead of obstacles

Posting these positive affirmations, quotes and messages to yourself will be a powerful experience

Let yourself believe your words to yourself

as you do….

you WILL find Greater health

Greater self love

and greater JOY

Sit down and take 2-5 minutes to write what you love about yourself and then post it around your home.

I promise you it will make a difference- a powerful change for good
